Invitation to Ilocos: Coming Soon in PinoyMountaineer!

Does Adams, Ilocos Norte ring a bell? I’m sure it does with the more exploratory guys in the mountaineering community. Indeed, Anupleg Falls and other wonders in the Adams-Pagudpud border are emerging as an outdoor destination coupled with the famed beaches of Pagudpud. A lesser known fact, however, is the existence of mountains within the same area, mountains which hold promise to be a new mountaineering hotspot.

Starting this month, PinoyMountaineer partners with 1 Degree Mountaineering Group to introduce and feature the mountains of Ilocos Norte and the rest of the Ilocos. The “Invitation to Ilocos” column will come out monthly starting next week with our first featured mountain from Ilocos, Pico de Loro Norte! Abangan!

wow at long last you’re going to explore Adams. Maraming adventure spots dun like falls, lakes, and mountains. Pico de Loro NOrte is also known as Mt. Palemlem [my long sought mountain for my thesis. Other mountains found there are Mt. Pao [quite challenging mountain accdg to locals], Mt. Mabolo, and Mt. Linao. A must try falls–Anuplig Falls! You may also try to coordinate with AMO–Adams Mountaineering Organization headed by Mr. Paul Acupan. I have contact info of one of the members of AMO if you’re interested. Adams also offers homestay for tourists.
